It Takes Repetition

When learning a foreign language, it is often said, “Learn a little, say a lot!”  The idea is to take small phrases and use them conversationally as often as possible.  This is not a novel and new idea.  At KKC, we practice saying letters of the alphabet over and over again. We may change up the words which start with the letter “B” but the sound of the letter B is happening over and over again.

Confidence comes through repetition. Character is built through repetition. In Philippians 4:8 we read, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, andhonorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Training our little ones in the language of God takes repetition. Teaching them to say “Yes” as an act of obedience or teaching them how to share a toy with another child…this takes repetition. And it is soooooooo worth it!!

Confidence comes through repetition. Character is built through repetition.

Where you find yourself in this given week, make every effort to reflect God’s character to those around you. Talking in a way that lifts others up, speaking things which are true and honorable, pure and lovely, this conversation blesses God and blesses others. It takes repetition!!
